Application of Loading 30 in Drilling Riser with the Hammering Method in the East China Sea

For the development of the oil and gas felds in the East China Sea, the hammering method was frstly used to load the drilling riser for the exploitation of 7 deep and ultra-deep wells from September 2015 to June 2016. Before the operation, a deep theoretical study was performed to learn the bearing capacity of the ground, the load of the riser at the top of the well and the driving depth. Critical device such as the pile hammer was chosen, and the loading of 30 in drilling riser was frstly shown with the hammering method based on previous technologies and theories of piling. This study shows the possibility of loading drilling riser with the hammering method, achieving economic and practical application results, laying a solid foundation for the application of this method.
