Application of High Density 3D Seismic Acquisition in Weizhou Oilfeld

  • Numerous small faults developed in Structure W11-5W of Weizhou Oilfeld makes it rather complex. The seismic data acquired by the conventional seismic acquisition technique, with relatively low signal-to-noise ratio, can't meet the requirements for the fne depiction of micro-structure and the fne characterization of reservoir. In 2016, 360 km2 of high density 3D seismic was deployed and acquired by Shanghai Offshore Oil&Gas Company in Weizhou Oilfeld and the surrounding area to meet the requirements for fne exploration. Some key parameters such as the bin size, fold, source and cable sinking depth were elaborately designed. The acquired data show that the imaging quality has been obviously improved and the effective frequency bandwidth broaden 7Hz. The fne depiction of micro-structure laid a solid foundation for the further development of Weizhou Oilfeld.
