Adaptability Analysis and Engineering Application of Spectra Water Flow Logging Technology

  • Conventional isotope logging conducted in the wells of Lunnan Oilfield in Tarim where the development of oil by the means of water-flooding have been taken for many years encounter the contamination, sedimentation, pollution and other problems. It is very difficult to dynamically monitor the injecting water due to the influence of viscosity, pipe string and macropore formation. Spectra water flow logging technology has been widely used in some oil fields because it can overcome the above problems. This paper begins with a brief introduction to the principles of spectra water flow logging technology, and followed by the adaptability analysis of this technology. Finally, this paper introduces its engineering application from three aspects: detecting the damages of casing, identifying the effectiveness of packers and locating water channeling point. Spectra flow logging can achieve some goals that cannot be fulfilled by the conventional logging, and is practically important to the development of the oilfield.
