Effect of Fracture Parameter in Horizontal Well on the Cumulative Production of Shale Gas Reservoirs

  • The development of shale gas reservoirs is still in the early stage in China. The analysis of the effect of fracture parameter in the horizontal well on the production of shale gas reservoirs will be of guiding significance to the highly efficient development of shale gas reservoirs.Based on the geology and reservoir data from Fuling gas field, the authors analyzed the effect of some fracture parameters such as fracture conductivity, fracture spacing, fracture length, fracture height etc.on the cumulative production of horizontal wells by using the dual porosity and dual permeability model. The partial correlation analysis of these parameters shows that the influence can be ordered from large to small as fracture length, fracture spacing, fracture conductivity and fracture height. In conclusion, the authors put forward the fracturing principle of “multi stages, long fracture length”.
