Study on the Performance of the Anti-temperature and Salt-resisting Scale Inhibitor for Oil Fields in Iraq

  • Water injection is the most widely used method for many oilfields during the later period of the development. However, during water injection process, inorganic scale might deposited, making water injection pipeline and formation being plugged. When the formation temperature is high, and salinity of injected water is high, the damage is very serious. In Iraq oilfield, the reservoir temperature is up to 120℃, and the salinity of injected water is up to 200×104 mg/L, scale phenomenon is very serious. Therefore, composite types of temperature resistance and salt inhibitor systems have been selected, and evaluation has been conducted on the performance of scale inhibitors. The results indicated that in the high temperature and high salinity brine solution, the anti fouling effect is best when the ratio of mixture of changed polyamine condensation polymer scale inhibitor agent monomer and organic phosphate antisludging agent is 1:1, and static and dynamic antiscale rate can reached more than 90%, which can meet the requirements for long-term water injection operations in oilfield.
