Gray Correlative Quantitative Analysis on the Influence of Steam Channeling of Multiple Thermal Fluids

  • Steam channeling cross well usually takes place due to differences in geologic conditions and technologic conditions during thermal recovery by multiple cyclic steam stimulation in viscous oil reservoir. In order to analyze the main reasons for steam channeling, grey correlative method has been used to calculate the relevance degree of different factors, determine quantitatively the influences of these factors on steam channeling, make clear which one is the primary or secondary important factor. The results show that the sensitivity of the factors affecting cross well steam channeling during multiple thermal fluid stimulation in horizontal wells ranks as follows: permeability, reservoir thickness, injection production pressure difference, injection strength, and the oil viscosity. In addition, some controlling measures have been put forward. The research results also can provide certain reference for thermal recovery scheme design and governing measures.
