Study on Rock Mechanical Parameters of Buried Hill Reservoirs in Bohai Oilfield——Examples of Penglai and South Jinzhou Oilfields

  • Rock properties can be characterized by rock mechanical parameters. The reservoir properties of fractured buried hill reservoirs are quite different from those of sand shale reservoirs. The magnitude of effective fracture will influence the logging values of P-waves and S-waves, the rock mechanical parameters calculated from the logging values will be different accordingly. Researches have indicated that the rock mechanical parameters have different response characteristics in different lithologies or reservoir types of buried hill reservoir. The rock mechanical parameters are characterized by high Poisson's Ratio, high bulk compressibility, low Young's modulus, and low shear modulus in fracture developed reservoirs.
