Discussion about the Methods for Identification of Fluid Properties in the Fuxian North Block

  • Yanchang formation is the main oil producing layer in the Fuxian North Block in Ordos basin. The reservoirs consist of mainly feldspar sandstone and lithic feldspar sandstone, experienced with strong diagenesis, resulting in poor physical property. Therefore, it is very difficult to identify the reservoir fluid property with the conventional logging interpretation method. In this paper, the porosity-water saturation crossplot method and the DLL visual discrimination have been used to identify the reservoir fluid property, and the identification results have been compared with the actual testing results, having 80% agreement with the actual testing results. Good application results have been achieved by using these methods for identification of reservoir fluid property.
