Design Consideration on the Subsea Multiphase Pump System in B1506 Block of Angola Deep Water Oilfield

  • In order to increase the development potential of B1506 Block marginal reservoir in Angola, subsea multiphase pump is selected to guarantee fluid flowing during long distance pipeline transportation. Through analysis of reservoirs conditions and fluid properties in B1506 Block, the suction pressure of multiphase pump has been determinated under the constraint of Eclips model combined with the study result of network model (Gap) to satisfy the requirements for increasing reservoir recovery and gas contents. In addition, by simulation the temperature of transportation system within full period of oilfield development life, the lowest temperature drop of the pipeline has been designed. Accordingly, the specific thermal insulation measures are designed to avoid obstruction in flow line due to wax deposit and hydrate precipitation. To match operational condition of existing FPSO system, the simulation study was conducted to define logic relation between multiphase pump system and gas lift model so that to guarantee stable operation during slowdown and turnaround period. The parameters and process flow of multiphase pump are finalized by analyzing the related factors. This study can provide technical reserves for development of deepwater oilfields in China.
