Numerical Simulation and Application of Air Gun Array Seismic Source

  • The air gun array seismic source has been widely used in offshore seismic exploration. Nowadays the air gun source is often evaluated by numerical simulation technique. After getting the far-field seismic wavelet, the performance of air gun source is evaluated by evaluating the parameters of the far-field seismic wavelet. The evaluation criteria on the performance of air gun array source have been discussed in this paper. Through evaluation on many air gun seismic sources with numerical simulation software, 3 000 CI air gun seismic source is considered best in these seismic sources, and was put into use in real seismic data acquisition. The geologic exploration purposes have been reached, and quality of seismic data is excellent.
