Study on the Method for Logging Quantitative Identification of Non-hydrocarbon Gas and Hydrocarbon Gas

  • Quantitative calculation of non-hydrocarbon (CO2) gas content is very significant in the development of gas reservoirs. In this paper, by using experiment data from other people, the logging response equation of carbon in formation conditions has been obtained by studying. Based on the principle of composition analysis in stratum and the principle of optimization analysis, the content of carbon dioxide in formation has been obtained. The application results indicated that this quantitative calculation method is suitable for the basin in South China Sea, the relative contents of hydrocarbon gas can be calculated quantitatively with logging data, which can be used to discriminate hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gas.
