Perforation Technology for Wells of Underground Gas Storage in Depleted Hydrocarbon Reservoirs

  • Completion by perforation is the main well-completing method for wells of underground gas storage in depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs.Because of slow gas injection and large amount of gas recovery,it is required that there should be good passages between the wellbore and the reservoir.The well completion techniques by perforation are very complex for wells of underground gas storage in depleted hydrocarbon reservoir,the requirements for perforation are very high and great difficulty exists in formation protection.In this paper,the discussion is focus on the key points of perforation technology,such as perforation technique optimization,perforation parameter optimization,reform of perforation compaction,igniting technique under negative pressure condition.This perforation technology has been used successfully in 13 wells of the Wen 96 Underground Gas Storage,and good results have been obtained.
