Identification and Forecast on the Distribution of Igneous Bodies in the Central Uplift of South Yellow Sea Basin

  • The Central Uplift, which is very low in exploration degree, is an important part of South Yellow Sea Basin. On the basis of the physical properties of igneous rocks in the central uplift of the Southern Yellow Sea and its surrounding areas, combining with comprehensive analysis of 2D seismic data and the regional magnetic data, five types of typical igneous features were identified in seismic reflection profiles of this area, including parallel slaty seismic reflection, cross slaty seismic reflection, moundy seismic re-flection, mushroom seismic reflection and volcanic edifices seismic reflection. According to the recognition of igneous rocks, the forecast on the distribution of igneous bodies in this area has been conducted. The results showed that igneous bodies are well devel-oped in the Central Uplift, and their distributions are closely related to the regional large faults, distributing mainly in the central and west part of the Central Uplift.
