Oil-Gas Exploration Achievements and Existing Problems in Lower Yangtze Jurong Area

  • Jurong area is one of the areas with earlier commercial oil flows in the Mesozoic-Paleozoic in South China. Different levels of oil-gas discovery have been made in the Cretaceous, Triassic and Permian through oil and gas exploration in Mesozoic-Paleozoic in Jurong area, and good exploration and development results have been obtained. However, problems still exist, such as oil-gas dispersion and poor enrichment. The study concluded that the Permian mudstones distribute widely in this area and the quality is pure, being expected to be the effective seais for the traps within the Upper Paleozoic.
