Development Risk in Offshore Oil & Gas Field and Risk Controlling Measures

  • Oil and gas field development is an industry with huge risk due to hostile geographical environment, complicated geological conditions and huge investment. Compared with onshore field, the offshore oil & gas development has greater risks in geology, development technique, engineering technique, politics and economy, with much higher investment in offshore development engineering construction. Therefore, it is very significant to analyze the development risks and put forward the measures to control the risks, which is very important for the subsequent oil and gas development project management. In this paper, the factors controlling the risks have been discussed, and the technical problems which are needed to be paid more attention during offshore development engineering construction have been put forward in order to provide some help in decreasing development risk and enhance economic benefit during the development management.
