Preliminary study of domestic deepwater mud logging technology

  • As deepwater is enriched with oil and gas resources, the focus of domestic exploration and development is shifting to the sea. While deepwater drilling is well-developed abroad, the domestic technology has just begun and there's no existing record for deepwater mud logging techniques. From HSE support, oil-gas shows, interpretation and evaluation, optimized drilling, and informatization construction, the paper analyzes the demands of domestic deepwater drilling for mud logging. From drilling safety, engineering parameters, debris collection, gas analysis for drilling fluids, and comprehensive interpretation of various data, the influence of deepwater drilling to mud logging is illustrated in this paper, and some suggestions for the development of deepwater mud logging is presented.
