Influence of kaoline to static adsorption and dynamical retention of polyacrylamide

  • During the tertiary oil recovery, volume of adsorption and retention is one of the key factors influencing the effect of polymer flooding.Combining with many problems occurred during polymer flooding on the working sites, under the guidance of the basic theories, the law of polyacrylamide adsorption statically in siliceous sand without oil and dynamical restoration in the artificial co re with starchcadmium iodide colorimetry have been studied by indoor simulation experiments at 45℃.In addition, the influence of kaoline on the retention volume has also been studied. The results show ed that adsorption isotherm was in accordance with "S" on the whole, saturation adsorption was achieved when the concentration of solution was about 1 200 mg/L.Polymer resorted more in the core and absorbed more on the surface of siliceous sand because of kaoline;in addition, the retention volume was increased from 0.353 mg/g to 0.794 mg/g with the increasing of kaoline.Under the same experimental conditions, the adsorption volume was higher than the retention volume.
