The distribution and exploration implications of coal beds of Pinghu Formation, Paleologene in Xihu Sag

  • 摘要: 西湖凹陷为一大型坳陷盆地,其主要烃源岩为平湖组煤系地层。平湖组沉积环境为稳定、宽阔平坦的滨海低地湿地,浅湖水塘星罗棋布。平湖组煤层空间展布具有多、薄、散、广、均的特点。广泛分布的煤层揭示了西湖凹陷广阔的生烃潜力。

     

    Abstract: Xihu Sag is a giant depression basin with coal beds of Pinghu Formation as its main hydrocarbon source rocks. The depositional environment of Pinghu Formation was stable, broad and it is a coastal-low-land wetland which was densely covered by shallow lakes and ponds. The coal beds of Pinghu Formation were characterized by excessive, thin, scattering, extensive and even distribution. The extensively presence of coal beds indicates vast hydrocarbon potential in Xihu Sag.
