Abstract: Nonlinear Drill String System Dynamics is an ineluctable subject in drilling engineering, which is one of the basic theories and methods of evaluating and carrying out new drilling technology, new drilling technique and new drilling tools. The development of drilling dynamics is reviewed in this paper. The research proposition of "Nonlinear Drill String System Dynamies"is put forward. And the necessity, the urgency and the feasibility of the research are demonstrated. Besides, the main research clue and content are presented.
