Abstract: Xihu Sag in the East China Sea has abundant gas resources. The overtrust downthrows of the central anticline areas, which are characterized by such favorable conditions of hydrocarbon accumulation as moderate structures, slight denudation and good preserving conditions of hydrocarbon, are important exploration areas in the East China Sea. The pool forming models and exploration practices about the compressing basins in West China may be used for reference in this aspect.
