Abstract: There are several complex middle to low porosity and low permeability oil reservoirs in the Chaheji oil field, dominated by dual factors of structure and lithology, the reservoir rocks of the oil-bearing formations are mainly of alluvial sediments. The 20 years of development history of the reservoirs has shown a typical procedure of successive exploration and development. Through high précised geological interpretation and successive cognitions, policies suitable to the geologic features of the oil reservoirs were established, and development policies such as well network perfection and intensification, adjustment of the oil pay zones and water zones in individual well sections, systematic treatments on the whole water injecting and oil producing wells, were proved to be effect, and fruitful results were achieved. These achievements in Chaheji oil field are inevitably credible and helpful to the development practice of other similar reservoirs.
