Abstract:
The breakthrough of petroleum exploration in the Weixi Block of Sinopec is due to the petroleum geologists who have devoted to the repeated recognition and practice in the regional petroleum geology and geological conditions for hydrocarbon accumulation, and tried to eliminate the false and detain the true in this area in more than ten years. Well A is located at west slope of Weixinan low uplift, to the east side of D low-lying area of Weixinan-Haizhong Sag. Palaeogeomorphology evolution and characteristics of source to sink system play an important role in the hydrocarbon accumulation and the deployment of successive exploration activities in this area. From the regional study of palaeogeomorphology evolution and characteristics of source to sink system based on the interpretation of regional 2D seismic lines and 3D data, the authors conducted more detailed study on the evolution and characteristics in Weixinan low uplift. It is suggested that the exploration scenario of detailedly studing D low-lying area first and then re-evaluating Haizhong Sag is helpful to accelerate the exploration and development in Weixi.
